WARCOP HALL LIBRARY
This project, completed in Autumn 2019, saw a combination of conservation – incorporating historic fragments of glass in the ‘mosaic’ tradition – and some elements of new design. The surviving original panels were badly damaged and temporary glazing was in two of the lights that had collapsed in previous years. The new design followed the form of existing glazing, but referenced its location, in a beautiful private library. Books authored by the client are featured in the window, and the mosaics hint at the colours and patterns in historic quilts which adorn the walls at Warcop.
